They Love Each Other
Sept. 21, 1991
Boston Garden

another spicy jambalaya rendering from this configuration. Tight and loose simultaneously with excellently intuitive coasting byway jamming.

Gimme Some Lovin'

barrels in and kicks ass. Definitely some first show of the year magic on this. Revives the blues/soul energy of set 1 to leave us smilin' and dancin

Drums -> Space

Thrilling and ominous. gets totally cranial, still retaining the pitb main ten for the duration. Excellent tonal space.

Sugar Magnolia

Memorial Coliseum

Yo. Ok ,26 is not enough for this high gas flame on a stove made before safety regulations were a thing version of Sugar mag. This song is one of their most iconic. Keith taking off!!!!!!!
Playin' In The Band

Triumphant 1977, re-entry after Wharf Rat!!!!!!!!!! Like a wave upon the sand, baby!!!!!
Wharf Rat
May 17, 1977
Memorial Coliseum

Jerry interrupts bill and mickey's drum solo at its peak with the slow, plaintive strumming of Wharf Rat, like we are doing a vaudeville or marx brothers bit. The version itself is amazing, nothing held back on the "i'll get up and fly away", and expansively vicious jamming. One of their best songs, period
Drums
May 17, 1977
Memorial Coliseum

Very nice 5-minute drum solo in between a mellow, ambient PITB and a wharf rat. The rubato, pulse-less feel throughout encourages both to be very sparse and experimental, building to awesome rolls and raucous stuff. Very musical, very thoughtful, very awesome Drums - another piece of this absolutely insane May 77 gig (all you have to say is May 77 and it's guaranteed to be dispensary, designer kush).
Terrapin Station

maybe the best of these? Idk, every single version from this year is so good. Using the dusborne Matrix for this by the way, very nice.
