it's party time with the grateful dead in SF, and this is a phenomenon unto itself, before you factor in selection and performance. This OMSN->UJB encore continues the nostalgic angle of tonight's hot show and gives both Godchauxs a gleaming feature, then Jerry and Mickey fire as this iconic gd track takes a firey hold of everything. This show doesnt have a meh moment. I'll probably listen to 3/20/77 tomorrow

Stunning 77 show, a particularly cerebral Franklin into a little sprinkle of some heady magic with an impassioned, red-hot and tight half-time tempo Sugar Mag! and nice long suspenseful sunshine daydream into an explosion, can't ask for more!

Touching, just ascendant and absolutely shredding, right into Franklin's to boot. the flowing melodies and exciting rhythmic bursts balanced with constancy make for a rather excellent uninterrupted 2nd set. there's never a bad time to dive into august west's surreal hellscape of a chronicle. let's be real. the "i'll get up and fly away part" is simply incredible stuff
