nasty 80's vibe on this. Jerry's vocals are in the zone. This is one of the 3 songs that Lesh said define the band.

Might As Well
Nov. 5, 1977
Community War Memorial Auditorium

Insanely heady, this could have been a Dead standard. Ingenious and riotous solo Jerry tune that crosses over into laid-back jammy greatness and back into garage mode

hot 77 Minglewood rave up right out of the gate tonight in Rochester
Eyes Of The World
Dec. 6, 1973
Public Hall

Omg, the DS->Eyes compilation is mind expanding and feels like waking up after a dream and wandering into the morning light. 14 minutes of ambient rip.

a roller coaster above stratospheric or ozone levels. This is definitely getting your master's in Dead U. this version is absolutely unreal, its one i think of when trying to recall the freakiest depths of structural nothingness that gave some of their pre-hiatus "Out" material that edginess.
Ramble On Rose
Dec. 6, 1973
Public Hall

Slinky, timeless, ever transcending and just wobbling on either side of a shot coin or rail. Soulful jerry. been thinking about this tune a lot recently, actually. What does it mean? let's be honest, absolutely nothing. All the same, it feels like it is completely within the fabric of american culture, somehow. it's brilliant stuff.
