Train rippin' down the hot coals of the 1973 track.

Drums
April 12, 1978
Cameron Indoor Stadium

Can't believe I'm submitting this. Long and fun drum circle that's notable because our Jer Bear whips out a steel pan and joins in.

It Must Have Been The Roses

Jerry tearing the standards book asunder with this elegant poetic brilliance

Big River
Oct. 31, 1990
Wembley Arena

For a few minutes wembley in '90 becomes the fillmore in the summer of 1970, the way the Dead just slide into a no-nonsense Big River. Shivers

Loose Lucy

Wembley Arena

Smokin' and refined version of this deep cut, on "All Hallow's Eve" as a chap might say

Goin' Down The Road Feelin' Bad
May 19, 1974
Portland Memorial Coliseum

For a half hour on this night the dead caught fire
Mind Left Body Jam
May 19, 1974
Portland Memorial Coliseum

this is revelatory stuff. Proof that Truckin' was one of their greatest vehicles for jamming in the 70's. Keith and Phil are wood shedding on this. It's the hottest Truckin' ever for good reason lol
Truckin'
Nov. 21, 1973
Denver Coliseum

OK so so heavy. A textbook "Trucksplosion" into a Nobody's Fault jam into a volcanic GDTRFB
Playin' In The Band
Nov. 21, 1973
Denver Coliseum

Yes indeed. Tres spicy multigalactic Playin' in the Band sandwich that goes the extra mile and how, then sum more. Bakersfield chickin pikin' to open going straight into something that sounds like Weather report or even Pat metheny group, it's just that fucking good the jamming is. Garcia is activated and billy is channeling dejohnette and elvin as well. Holy cow this is psychedlic. Must-hear for this initial version alone, not to speak of El paso wharf and morning dew weaving and DS teasing. Reprising like a broadway musical of just good ole 73.
Brokedown Palace
Nov. 21, 1973
Denver Coliseum

Very eye-raisingly epic anthem. everyone's got their eyes on the prize in this
