Drums
April 12, 1978

Can't believe I'm submitting this. Long and fun drum circle that's notable because our Jer Bear whips out a steel pan and joins in.

For a few minutes wembley in '90 becomes the fillmore in the summer of 1970, the way the Dead just slide into a no-nonsense Big River. Shivers

Eyes Of The World
Nov. 11, 1973
Winterland Arena

Eyes is always beckoning, curlicuing me. It's the song that endlessly fascinates me. the combination of DS->MLB->Eyes , bested at this nutso gig which will melt your brain. Are you freaking. kidding me. this sequence of dead music is absolutely one of the highlights of 73, there are so many to consider when i say this. This is one of the best eyesies i've ever heard, the feel, the jamming, the ideas inventiveness and synchronicity in when and how to exercise these colorful flowering flourishes on Eyes, all of this accounts for an experience that will just rip you apart. That DS->MLB, whenev the acid jazz 1-drummer years dead would go off like this, whatever songs would follow, you're going to want to hear that version because it's going to be of a stupendously activated improvisational inspiration.
Dark Star
Nov. 11, 1973
Winterland Arena

Legendary Dark Star that captures some fragmented essences of true self and being before dissolving repeatedly ad infinitum, again. There's a peace in knowing the stillness of endless mathematical repetition, in this case engineered by visceral performance by the Grateful Dead.
