Uncle John's Band

The Spectrum

Easy breezy with the glinty afterglare of yore. Drifty transition to boot. Nice twilight septet memory making.

Hard hat 92, bluegrass plinky. Alchemical goop-laden improv. bluesy panache.

touching simplicity of row bridges the bullet-train nowness of this ripping bizarre banger. Post-capitalist freako jazz hair metal..

Playin' In The Band
July 19, 1974
Selland Arena

this wall of sound PITB is like a column for the senses, a lightning rod for the rhythmic imagination of the group. There's plenty of wiggle room for lots of solo journeying. the brew starts boiling around the 10-minute mark and new landscapes emerge. Fractal lakes of goodness

The 77 and adjacent period made many tracks untouchable in my eyes.

Damn impressive... red hot and they take the bus for miles. Devils are snappin, weir is eulogizing the bygone prankster freeloader character with some snark. What a second solo... glassy eyed
Truckin'
Feb. 5, 1978
Uni Dome, U of Northern Iowa

jamming is top knotch out of scarlet fire and into Drums>TO1>wharf. Great stuff here, the Truckin song while a placeholder in some senses was also often a key element of set 2 jamming that was extremely flexible for the group. Offers a lot. and DP18 is just such a great release, these shows are stellar
