Uncle John's Band
March 18, 1992
The Spectrum
Easy breezy with the glinty afterglare of yore. Drifty transition to boot. Nice twilight septet memory making.

The Spectrum
Hard hat 92, bluegrass plinky. Alchemical goop-laden improv. bluesy panache.

Picasso Moon
March 18, 1992
The Spectrum
touching simplicity of row bridges the bullet-train nowness of this ripping bizarre banger. Post-capitalist freako jazz hair metal..

Not Fade Away
Nov. 15, 1971
The Austin Municipal Auditorium
God damn they sound amazing.... I do prefer the late 70's for NFA but god damn this one earns my respect big time. The china cat weaving and that amazing jam before GDTRFB are a prime showcase of Dead creativity and interplay. They get super out of control on this version, and yet they intersperse the firestorm with the most gorgeous soft passages, it's truly a must hear.
Jack Straw
Nov. 15, 1971
The Austin Municipal Auditorium
Wow. Amazing version of jack straw we've got here. that Texas audience must have been in absolute ecstasy hearing this classic song for the first time
Stella Blue
