They Love Each Other

another spicy jambalaya rendering from this configuration. Tight and loose simultaneously with excellently intuitive coasting byway jamming.

mournfully acrobatic delivery and searing tiger, love it for days

Gimme Some Lovin'

barrels in and kicks ass. Definitely some first show of the year magic on this. Revives the blues/soul energy of set 1 to leave us smilin' and dancin

Drums -> Space

Thrilling and ominous. gets totally cranial, still retaining the pitb main ten for the duration. Excellent tonal space.

Here Comes Sunshine
July 28, 1973
Grand Prix Racecourse

Here comes sunshine 1973 is really one of those unbeatable song/year combos for me, like a Scarlet Fire from '77 or a lovelight from '69, there's just something about it. The whole band turning on in a big way. Taking the vacation together
Beat it on Down The Line

Grand Prix Racecourse

Sheeeeeee-it, looks like we've got an underrated show here. Nearly 4 hours of summer '73 bliss at Watkins Glen. Burning burning burning beat it.
Box of Rain
July 28, 1973
Grand Prix Racecourse

Such a long time to be gone and such a short time to be there. yeah, an amazing box of rain on this show. I definitely would have started crying during this song and kept my grateful eye shedding going into that fat juicy 73 here comes sunshine. Here's the show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9lsWCYKgvI
Revolution
March 15, 1990
Capital Centre

Whoa, marylandian insanity on this encore. A bust-out of an old distorted rave-up of a Beatles B-side, accompanied by Lennon's "Activism" type political screed. The hippie dippie vibe wins out and the song has always been a great one, especially in the slowed down "Revolution 1" white album style. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3gaA4r_07Q very end!
Cassidy

Add it to the endless list of great cassidys, a headlong boppin' yet wise and wistful early bob weir tune
