Jerry plays Bob's double time rythym in lead at the end. Unique and intense.

Lazy Lightnin' -> Supplication

The band is absolutely on fire during this night, the first set and on this duo. It amazes me that this amazing show is totally forgotten.

The best Sugar Mag ever without Duane Allman.

No offense my friend but Box aint St Stephen - what is but Dark Star? This was a crazy night that we waited years for. My God, the endless teasing in the space was tortue then but seems epic now lol....I remember being told on the train into Grand Central by a friend that they were going to play it as they had soundchecked it the previous show in Greensboro. "Yeah, right! Heard that one before" I replied.. Oh to open one's mouth and joyfully insert foot! As far as shocking, Rochester, 9-2-80 when they went from Aiko ( when it was still AIKO) into Morning Dew (when they still did only a few a year). Not THAT was clutch the heart and drop shocking.

This was the very first version the band ever played with the vocal reprise at the end, totally ad-libbed at the time as it was the fourth and final time the song was played that tour and not something the band would have rehearsed and restructed beforehand.
