Stella Blue

This one may have set the bar for me on what makes an elite Stella. Jerry's voice sounds great. Phil and the boys help set the tempo. I am not a big Keith fan because I rarely feel like I hear where he contributes most times but this is one where he definitely stands out. The outro knocks it out of the park. That guitar is soft and tender just carrying you off to another planet. I am fairly new on exploring Stella so if there are any other shows that come to mind like this other than 10/21/78 and 6/18/74 please let me know!

This is for sure the best pre hiatus version I have heard so far. I think it should be considered for best even though it was only the second time being played. I think 5/19/77 gets the top vote mostly for the outro which is great but the first solo on this version could be just as good. It is very calculated and delicate. I feel the emotion.
Brown Eyed Women

Winterland Arena

My personal favorite BEW is 5/28/77 and I have listened to a ton of others to find a close second. This one is it. This solo just pulls me in and that’s part of what I look for in a great version. I feel like their music is like a familiar conversation every time they play it but Jerry especially would find different ways to speak to us within that conversation.

This one is pretty good for being an earlier '77 version. Sounds like all of the guitar breaks are on point and Jerry has a clear direction on where he wants to take it. I would put it up there definitely in the top 10 for '77.

This one had me in tears. First time listening today. I just hopped on the bus this year and have listened to a ton of EP and while listening to this one it was checking off every box of what I look for in my ideal EP. 1. The band is in tune, and all instruments can be well heard together or individually. 2. It has a nice steady groove. 3. Bobby’s vocals are good. 4. The first solo from Jerry is so tight almost like sparks going off ready to ignite something much bigger. It could go on longer, but I think it actually helps build suspense by cutting it short as if Jerry is saying “OK you’ll like that. I’ll be back with more.”5. The second solo just comes back and carries me away into the abyss. 6. Finally , it comes to a slow halt altogether in nice unison with Bobby throwing out some nah nah nahs. After I listened to this, I felt like my body melted.
