Goin' Down The Road Feelin' Bad
April 1, 1984
Marin County Veterans Auditorium

Steps out unexpectedly from an almost-aborted Miracle. Tight and right jamming.

Mexicali Blues

Jerry's restatements of the melody throughout his solos are brilliant uptempo marvels.

Playin' In The Band
June 14, 1976
Beacon Theatre

Beautiful, comprehensive statement of where Playin' was at in the beginning of the post-hiatus '76 sound. 20 minutes of love.

Might As Well
June 14, 1976
Beacon Theatre

Lotsa fun rocker with the louche touch becoming of the song. Did Donna ever sound better than Summer '76?

The Music Never Stopped
June 3, 1976
Paramount Theatre

This one's got the goods. Doesn't shred-out at the end, but tight playing, and great vocals all around.

Mason's Children
Dec. 28, 1969
International Speedway

Extensive and exploring jam suggesting what might have come of this song had it stayed in rotation a bit longer.
Cumberland Blues
Dec. 28, 1969
International Speedway

A wild ride. Great fun.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
Dec. 28, 1969
International Speedway

Can't see +31's comments, (beta glitch?) but I'm going to agree with Cuse15420: The hot youthful energy is packed so tight that China Cat just bursts at its seams. Then the Rider is full of exhuberence and passion. If you love '69 (and really, heads, really) then this is kick-assed version and all around epic show should really do it for you.
Turn On Your Love Light
June 14, 1969
Monterey Performing Arts Center

Listen to the whole show (in the right order cuz the Archive set order is screwy) and you'll get it. The whole thing is a Love Light Sandwich that climaxes so intensely you'll have to hose yourself down. Ohhhhhh, to have been there....
The Eleven
June 14, 1969
Monterey Performing Arts Center

High velocity and somehow ordering chaos like only the '69 Dead knew how to do. The whole show is just a blazing glory.
