Dancin' in the Streets
July 12, 1976
Orpheum Theater
On of the post-haitus ones that stretch and groove and go every-which-way. What a treat.

Kicks off a the second set with a jam that creeps up on you and is suddenly shredding. Cool opener in an under-the-radar show.

New Minglewood Blues
July 12, 1976
Orpheum Theater
Comes storming out the gate after 5 years on the shelf. The Devils drive this one, but everyone is on, up, and jumping.

Cassidy
July 12, 1976
Orpheum Theater
Smooth highway. Bobby and Donna in sweet harmony, and with that whiff of grace that marks the best versions of Cassidy out there.

Might As Well
June 29, 1976
Auditorium Theatre
Good times for all on this sweet set closer, coming out of a killer TMNS.

This scorcher will amaze you. Jerry burns with the force of a thousand suns. Really.
Mississippi Halfstep Uptown Toodeloo
Oct. 14, 1976
Shrine Auditorium
The "It Factor" is dialed way up past 11 here folks. Don't skip this show. Strap on some headphones and cross that Rio-o-o-o Grande. This one is a beaut. I keep using the word "powerful" to describe their playing on this show and I think it's apt. Check out an under-the-radar MHUT and enjoy!
Sugar Magnolia
Oct. 10, 1976
Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum
The Devils take this one to the races. The whole set is one colossal jam after another.
Stella Blue

The jam out of this is so good. It sounds like half the band is playing Playin' and the other half is playing The Other One. Could some one with better ears than mine tell me if that's right? Are they jamming 6/8 over 10/4 for a patch? Wild.
The Other One
Oct. 10, 1976
Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum
Like the Playin' in this epic 2nd set, this TOO is more fired up and heavy than a lot of the other '76 versions. I think it captures the pre-hiatus danger and hard rock sound (like the Playin' too). Maybe the presence of The Who inspired them to put more firepower on their set? Who knows, but they were rockin' it with ferocious intensity here.
