Pared down and quiet, but also a tight ball of energy, ready to burst. Seems like this show doesn't get enough love.

Sounds like they had a big-rig air horns, steam whistles, small caliber rifles and martian submarines: A Symphony of Wrong. Awesome.

Outtakes from Anthem: '67 comes in hot! The transition from '66 pop is complete. B/B- sound quality though. Worth it.

Filthy. Pig's voice is very clean here. The dates are probably wrong.

Dates are debatable, but the band isn't. Brilliant insert between Schoolgirl sections.

Dick knew what he was doing by including the 10th in DP33, because this whole show is just bonkers good. I think the 10th's first set is genuinely better than the 9ths, but the second set is just amazing. This Playin'>Drums>Wheel>Drums>TOO>Stella>Playin' is as outrageous a set as you're going to find. Love this Wheel.

Agreed with the above comment, and this one seems to capture that '73 meltdown wildness in a 'lightning in a bottle' concision that makes this one arguably the best Playin' of '76.

About six minutes in the band hits the warp drive, followed not one, not two, but three or four shifts in tone and direction, creating whole new feelings and moods. It's unique and exploratory, while also hitting highlights of tight-assed superfunk. This is one of the best of the year, in a year full of just brilliant versions. The long transition to Wharf Rat is just amazing, and it's exactly what I listen for in the 1000s of hours I devote to this music.
