Always preferred the fast ones, but listening to Jerry rip up the solos here and it makes sense. Killer version here (with a rude AUD patch though).

Has a crisp and tight disco shuffle prefiguring the '77 sound. Jerry's solo fills are precise and brilliant. Donna's harmonies are as sweet as ever.

This moves through phases along the way but gets there in style! Hits brilliant experimental patches and flirts at weirdness (never really getting there) when all at once-blam-o! It lands you in... BIG RIVER?!? What a mind-fuck that must have been for the Heads in attendance. Gotta love them for such spontaneity.

Don't let a scuffy AUD scare you away from this pristine Cassidy. Bobby and Donna are in sweet harmony, and the band has that 'hot mellow' perfection: Not rushing, but scorching earth. Jerry swoops and soars, riding thermals behind that Cadillac like an eagle chasing prey.

Hey I just listened to this suite again and think the WR>Jam idea might be wrongly labeled. At 10:48 or so Jerry changes key back into Playin' and the band follows immediately. Their meter changes too and it sounds more like 10/4 (Playin') than 6/8 (WR) to my ears. This doesn't change a damned thing or detract from what's been said, but I think this is a Playin'>WR>Playin'>Meltdown>Playin' suite. Thoughts?
