Really short, but very tight. Jerry ends with a cascading riff that sounds like spotaneous composition. Anyone know if they played this jam again?

A subtle beauty. Just a bit of swagger, just a bit of grit, lots of fine singing, and an acqueous solo for the ages.

Scorchin' hot barnburner here. The Rhythm Devils push this one ever hotter. Bobby and Donna sound perfect together.

Superb version, surprising not listed yet. Tighter to my ears than the other more well-known ones in the Boston run. Check it out!

MORE COWBELL! (And some very tight, blistering rock, sweet ensemble vocals, and good times for everyone after a great great show.)

Playin' In The Band

The second half, after a gorgeous Wheel, is tighter and more energetic than the first part. Sounds like Jerry and maybe the drummers were signalling for >>The Other One before coming back into PITB, which would have been the first one of '76. Instead, they settle into what might be a unique 12/8 jam over a strong 4/4 pulse (rather than reaching 6/8 TOO feeling) before following Phil out of the splintering shards back to the PITB, complete with a blown speaker. Tremendous musicianship, and a stunning reprise, which must have given the Heads quite a spin.

A real beaut. After a introspective and floating Playin' jam intro, this wheel coalesces into a dreamscape, like drifting down the highway between sleep and waking life. Yes, the transition back to Playin' is beautiful, too.

First inklings of what the Disco Dead sound will be start about here. This isn't meant to be dismissive. I freakin' love the Disco Dead.

Peak Bobby+Donna era. This one bubbles on smoothly, slowly kicking up the intensity until it boils over in a triumph of sweet harmony.
