Park West Ski Resort

HOT version, outro is a bit fast, in keeping with the entire era. But Jerry's leads are on fire, sounds straight outta 74

Bickershaw Festival

Festival vibe bleeds into this song. Nice and peppy, Jerry’s gives it a little extra. I also like the non-languid versions from Europe 72, and this is a really good version

I think 5/19, 8/5 and 6/26 are better 74 versions by a good bit, but this one sure has some stanky funk to it and is a bit of a hot mess in a good way!

I’m partial to the 74 versions with Phil’s prominent vocals, feeling groovy and long jazzy transitions and also partial to the pure dripping lysergic version of Veneta, but if you’re looking for “perfect” execution, this one is it. Plus I’m not sure Bob sounds better on any other version. this was my “first” and many other people’s first exposure to this pairing and I will always love it. And it holds up really well against the more jammed out versions of the next few years — it really is a hot version!
