Jack Straw

JG opens this one with an extra flourish and then gives a taste of what hot '80's Straws will be like.

Thoughtful and playful with some neat Brent doorbell jammin' - Jer's mood seems to be really telegraphed here it's cool.

Jack Straw
Oct. 29, 1977
Evans Field House, Northern Illinois University

Rips hard and has a raunchy edge with DJ's excellent backup work. There a gazillion Jack Straws but this deserves a listen.

Jerry comes out and pounds the crowd to dust - sheesh.

Thompson Arena - Dartmouth College

That 10/29/77 rings a bell - I know I've heard it but can't recall it specifically - gonna go check it on your recommend Grendel. If it's anything like this one I am sure I will dig it.
The Other One
April 24, 1984
Veterans' Memorial Coliseum

'84 is underappreciated in my book too and this one is so damn darkly atmospheric and just a cool journey - Weir's work is especially interesting to me here all the way to the end. While not '84 check out 4/6/82 for a quick but FIERCE O1. that does not overstay it's welcome but gets to the point for the bash.

Massive and worthy of many more votes - check it and you will see.
