New Minglewood Blues

Evans Field House, Northern Illinois University

Defo has the macho required for the big versions. Bob in huge emotive form and Jer matches him with fills that are big on the swagger and twangy jags. Got some weirdo buzzering on Keith's new keys or moog or something - this makes it different and cool check it out- hi energy and experimentation all mixed up right here. Check 8/13/79 for a FUNKIFIED jam that'll knock you out.

Thompson Arena - Dartmouth College

Grendel - I was wrong I hadn't heard this show before or the Bertha.. Out of the gate they crush it with the Might As Well / Jack Straw punch counter punch yowzer. Like the Dire Wolf ALOT Not crazy about the Bertha gotta listen to it some more - but the Eyes is top notch action - the kickoff intro is right up my alley and Jer just seems to be clearly thinking his jams all the way through this one... gonna hit repeat.
