The answer to both is :You are you and the other is floating around in the ether and copies on various bits of magnetic tape. Isn't it grate that you and I are in existence at the same time as having the technology to listen again and again to the Grateful Dead? Strange given that their music was always changing and swirling in a most ephemeral way. Oh and yes, this is a great concert from start to finish. And check out the gig from 2 days later!
Eyes Of The World
Sept. 7, 1973
Nassau Coliseum

Absolutely stellar version full of juicy jazzy jammy yumminess! Next nights Eyes is V.G as well. I'm a bit surprised at how far down the list the 1973 Eyes are and yet I think that many of them are in the top 10. Goes to show, you don't ever know........
Dark Star
Sept. 10, 1972
Hollywood Palladium

Brilliant version, really moves along, tight jamming, stellar playing from all and if you look around I.A there is good SQ version of this whole show.
The Other One
Aug. 22, 1972
Berkeley Community Theatre

Agreed. What a week this was. Aren't we lucky to be able to hear it in such a good quality. As for this TOO, it's just so good. I don't think it's really possible to sometimes even say which is the best of THIS WEEK in history, let alone across tours and even less across the years. If you love good jazz rock, great playing then take time to listen to TOO/Dark Star from 21/8/72-> 27/8/72. Your life will change for the better!
The Other One

Superb version, never gets lost or wanders. I am constantly being amazed at just how spectacularly talented the boys were/are. Jerry 's playing in 1972-1974 period is off the charts on most songs on most nights!!! The constant innovation, creative soloing...How did they do it???
