The rockin' opener to a really GREAT 1972 show-wish this show could get a formal Dead release.

Bird Song
Oct. 21, 1972
Vanderbilt University
I Think that from August 72 to the end of 1972 the Bird Songs are just sooo good. This one comes from a show of which only 6 songs seem to survive. Worth a listen.
Dupree's Diamond Blues

Dream Bowl
Agree. The studio version is probably the best version of this song, but this is next and from a Brilliant show-worth listening to the lot-a great D.S and Mountains of the Moon. Brilliant

This is so good. A 9 minute feast of GD Blues. As good as the Strand performance
Stella Blue

Coming out of A REALLY Great Dark Star, beautifully paced(not too slow) well sung-[Jerry's voice in 72 was so sweet ]and delicately played by all. Love & Metta CB
Dark Star
Dec. 11, 1972
Winterland Arena
Listening to this as I just came across the late December shows from Winterland. Although the sound is patchy(in and out of Soundboards & AUD, what a great Dark Star. Jazzy but directed. The boys stay with it the whole way-no getting lost. It fairly sprints along as well. I could easily mistake this for a 73 DS. Brilliant! Love & Metta .CB
