One of best of 1974. Tight, Jerry inventive and confident, good soloing. Everything a Deal should be. Give it a listen.

Bird Song

Berkeley Community Theatre

Far out. A great version from a great week-possibly the best week for the band ever? Well top 3 anyhow. From the opening night at the Berkeley 4 night run which keeps getting better and better and ends at VENATA 27/8/72-point me to a better week in Dead history.

Starts off my favourite 2nd set of 1974. Best ever US Blues coming out of a superb Weather Report suite>jam SSDD and a good GDTRFB ending with... My favourite ever Ship of Fools.

This show is often overlooked -easy to do in Europe '72, but trust me, this is as good as it gets. The whole show is top 5( a pointless exercise I know!) but I think it's really very good from start to end.

Last ever:-( I really love this song. The Dead in their day really could do it all, couldn't they? Just listen to Keith's very bluesy right hand. Just exactly perfect.
