‘77 tight with an urgently paced tempo that never lets up. Download Road Trips October ‘77 No. 1 Vol. 2 for a crystal clear waterfall of sound. You may immediately put it into your top 75 rotation. My friends, can anyone truly answer why this version is relegated to single digit votes? A true mystery. Help move this one up.

Is this heaven? This version alone can showcase the rare talent that the GD could reach. Jerry’s Travis Bean magic solo achieves a new level of melodic interplay as each musician and instrument takes a turn to add perfectly timed notes as they up the ante & soar with him as it unfolds. The final part of solo trembles (with uncertainty) until it catches its breath rolling out notes only Jerry could put forth. The slow drum beat after is a testament to what had just been on display.

Past halfway Jerry drops his pick, kneels down and picks it back up and doesn’t miss a note. Please check out the video version and you’ll see why there is only one Jerry Garcia.

wow. Starting around 5:30 you get some blistering jamming lasting 5 minutes or so that puts other bands on notice that there’s only one band that can reach that kind of level and that is the Dead.
