Heavens! It took a Dave's Picks to get this on the board! Soft, seductive, dark, and pretty much perfectly realized. Guitar break: shit yeah.

Estimated Prophet

Bold, sharp, confident version with plenty of 1977 squoosh. This version has that great '77 restraint with Garcia speaking in MuTron tongues.

Attention. To. Detail. - ESP Weir. Not the world's greatest recording, but the band is bubbly & effortless.

China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider

Listened to this on a big PA outside over the summer and it's so alive, athletic, and filled with beautiful instrumental cross-talk. Improv!

Estimated Prophet

Winterland Arena

Agreed - I don't think Estimated was ever better than in '77. It was at its murkiest and there are (as we discovered) many varieties of murk.

Another visit to this little beast. Always a pleasure. Should have more votes - this of such heavyosity and fiery crash statistics. Classic.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider

I would chime in for this simply for its status as a 1973 C>R sans the Feelin' Groovy jam, which I generally think is pretty rote. 1973 GD is, however, Expert Shifty, so this is a rare treat. Garcia, on Fender, is still skywriting the twang sky. Some clear pedal steel moments. Jeez F!

Heavens! The 73ness of this is pretty mesmerizing. Underpants drawer stuff.
