Jed As Tight Little Pop Song. Tight and snappy, enthusiasm for a new classic.

Smooth, silky, and that unique silvery June '76 Garcia sound.

He's Gone
Sept. 26, 1972
Stanley Theatre

This He's Gone has every base covered - want smooth as silk? Check. Perfect pace? Check. Lovely 3D recording? Check. Top drawer vocals? Checko-El Greco. Sweet, elaborate Strat/ES-345 double-slalom? Yerp. Truth & Soul? That's right!
Big River
Sept. 26, 1972
Stanley Theatre

I'd say a bit more than +pretty hot+ -- but all of these 72 Big Rivers smoke, so it's easy to get jaded or just blinded. This one, which has much to savor, is a September 72 Smoker. Worth the spin.
Playin' In The Band
July 16, 1972
Dillon Stadium

Hell with the audio quality - its good enough to hear a rip-roaring explosion of a Playin' and a crowd groovin' on it enormously. Worth yr time & indulgence. This starts the Platinum Age of Playin' - I fink.
Dark Star
Dec. 5, 1971
Felt Forum - Madison Square Garden

Celebratory. I love the underrated Fall 1971 Dark Star. There! I said it! Shifts gears effortlessly - the conversation never lets up or becomes uninteresting. Garcia's Strat and Godchaux team up to perfect effect.
The Other One
March 18, 1971
Fox Theatre

Where has this one been? Laying low in the cut? Yeah - probably, knowing you you slinky slinkfest. Kreutz on top of business - newly free of semi-leg iron Hart. Pigpen's organ chops and slice & dice machismo are not to be trifled with. Then @945 Garcia initiates the launch sequence. Top shelf greatness. Even with the scary edit @745, one of the great Other Ones. Top of game yield.
