The horns shouldn't work, but they sorta do. And Garcia skitters through around them like Norm Van Lier. OK - things get a little dodgy @8:00, and I'm reminded that I don't usually prefer the Dead with guests. Even David Murray, who can play these guys under the table, two chairs, and a dining room set. Didn't dig that. > Still, this one has some transcendent moments, especially after things really spread out @10:00. Someone must have tied up the horn section in a supply room in the back. > Ooops - spoke too soon. Back at 11:00. They probably slipped their cuffs and broke out. Sneaks. When they play chords, they sound wonderful. Improv, not so much.

Kreutzmann in his glory. A couple of tape cuts make him/them seem even more super human than they already are, but the drums set everything up - including but not limited to a nice little launch pad for Garcia. Speaking of, when I hear this, I'm like, "you stopped playing the Strat why?"
