Relaxed and joyous space-age electric guitar semi-ballad.

Warp speed, precise, slightly unhinged, and driving into the greenish-blue evening.

Godchaux leads a version that seethes with the excitement of a new song.

A giggly, slangy Garcia masterpiece (in sweet show sauce). Goes down EZ.

So good you can practically see the border town.

Dark Star
Feb. 13, 1970
Fillmore East

I haven't written anything? JEEEZZZZ. Probably my favorite of all Dark Stars. That's all! From the drop, it is glee and pictographs and holly and fitzbah! Can't even single out one A+++ performance - everyone's at the top of their game.
Dark Star
Sept. 19, 1970
Fillmore East

I love this DS - they get into some really abstract music concrete and drones at various points, but not in a cheap, gimmicky way. Pretty sure La Monte Young would be on board. If somebody could ask him . . .
Playin' In The Band
Sept. 15, 1972
Boston Music Hall

One of the seriously under-rated Playin's - Garcia approaches the song from a slightly different approach point; it makes for really imaginative, exploratory, conversational guitar playing. Avec some beautiful closed-wah transmissions.
Loser
April 4, 1971
Manhattan Center

The almondy kick and chocolatey bass set this baby up for worldly success.
The Other One
Aug. 14, 1971
Berkeley Community Theater

This show and the following night RULE. A favorite matched set. And Lesh is front-and-center both nights. Garcia's Les Paul cuts through like a hot knife thru margarine. A great time for Other Ones.
