Two things: (1) the middle of a searing Other One > MAMU > Other One fest and (2) Garcia loses his mind (or mine) at the end of the solo.

The Other One
Feb. 23, 1971
Capitol Theater

Sort of amazed this one isn't discussed more. Garcia's got it on cruise control & Lesh is adding some luxurious tension. Also an early indication of the subtlety and freedom allowed by having one drummer. Tighter turns. Quieter quiets.
Eyes Of The World
Oct. 29, 1977
Evans Field House, Northern Illinois University

This is version is smooth in saddle. Drummers are sitting up a little higher on their thrones. The jams are sublime.
Estimated Prophet

Evans Field House, Northern Illinois University

Weir and Godchaux provide a beautiful rhythmic pool and Garcia luxuriates. Yr soaking in it!
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
Nov. 30, 1980
Fox Theatre

Garcia is FLYING during the transition!
Candyman
Nov. 29, 1980
Alligator Alley Gym, University of Florida

Great audience - love the emotional reaction of the crowd to the song and this version earns every bit of it. Lovely.
