ATOMIC! Garcia's subversive wah work only makes the area less safe for the public.

Searing version - groovy false start, then Garcia soars like an acrobat. Plug in!

CRUSH. Hard to believe they brought this intensity and dynamic precision all the time then, but they did! Ace!

Unknown Genre - iTunes. Kreutzmann drives this hovercraft - as he seems to in all of the great Berthas of this time. Look out for the guitars.

Have always loved the San Venetia tapes - almost like an x-ray of the GD. You can so hear the guitar architecture. So tempted to make that one word.

This one is an out-of-the-gates celebration. And easily slides into a chill conversation. One of those '76 Other Ones that makes you think. This stands up!

My only criticism of this lovely rendition is that it shares Dave's 6 with an even more staggering 2-2-1970 version.

How doesn't this have more votes? Peak-period Other One. A band can't be much more engaged all the way through. Kreutzmann now fully liberated. Some very nice, rich Pigpen organ work, too. Probably my favorite year for this song. The subtle, storytelling interplay (especially between the guitars) reminds me why. Just deluxe, restaurant quality material.
