Truckin'
Jan. 24, 1971
Seattle Center Arena

Easily overlooked show - the Truckin' opener is a giant tidal wave red carpet.

Not Fade Away
March 21, 1972
Academy of Music

Picture Perfeck Academy of Music NFA! Kreutzmann and Weir scoot this gem along.
3
The Other One
Dec. 12, 1970
Santa Rosa Fairgrounds

Adventure soundtrack - the group plays out a number of scenes. Garcia's the acrobatic narrator for the most part. Superb and interactive.

The Other One
Dec. 10, 1969
Thelma Theater

Big and round. Lesh is the wacked-out chauffeur. What a cool, bizarre run.

Big River
Nov. 20, 1973
Denver Coliseum

A strike-zone era Big River. Smooth & prickly.

Eyes Of The World
Nov. 4, 1977
Cotterell Gym - Colgate University

I don't usually love my Eyes this fast, but the group gets pretty damn locked in early on and makes it work. The drums are occasionally flabby, but also propel this pleasure cruise mightily. And this is a pleasure cruise.
Dancin' in the Streets
May 15, 1977
St. Louis Arena

A surging beast from the drop. Hard to choose between the various epic May77 Dancin's, but this one easily punches its weight. Garcia's push-button guitar crushes.
They Love Each Other
Feb. 22, 1974
Winterland Arena

My favorite arrangement and one of the really sizzlin' versions. Garcia and Godchaux are bookends.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
Feb. 14, 1970
Fillmore East

I'm surprised to see this one in the single figures. This is a masterpiece. At various times the guitars (no one's playing rhythm exactly) sound like criss-crossing circuits. Almost space age at times. And yet raw. Unprecedented.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
May 26, 1973
Kezar Stadium

I'm not a fan of the Feelin' Groovy jam in general, but I dig this version in spite of it.
