Heavens! It took a Dave's Picks to get this on the board! Soft, seductive, dark, and pretty much perfectly realized. Guitar break: shit yeah.

Estimated Prophet

Winterland Arena

Bold, sharp, confident version with plenty of 1977 squoosh. This version has that great '77 restraint with Garcia speaking in MuTron tongues.

Attention. To. Detail. - ESP Weir. Not the world's greatest recording, but the band is bubbly & effortless.

China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider

Yale Bowl, Yale University

Listened to this on a big PA outside over the summer and it's so alive, athletic, and filled with beautiful instrumental cross-talk. Improv!

And Godchaux's so into it, he plays an extra chord at the end for good measure!

The Other One
Nov. 14, 1971
Texas Christian University

The Other Ones from this block of time are ridiculously inspired and inventive. Garcia, Lesh, and Kreutzmann take the cockpit for the most part. But early jazzbo Godchaux dividends are already being paid. So much is accomplished in just the first 8+ minute serving. When it pops up again, it explores deeply.
