Me and My Uncle
Nov. 17, 1971
Albuquerque Civic Auditorium

Two things: (1) the middle of a searing Other One > MAMU > Other One fest and (2) Garcia loses his mind (or mine) at the end of the solo.

Drop dead gorgeous, lithe, and restaurant quality perfect.

Lately I think of Port Chester. Fab 4 Alignment. Limber. Ambidextrous.

St. Stephen
Dec. 29, 1969
Boston Tea Party

The peak is like a merry-go-round spinning out of and back into control and then, albeit briefly, out and in of control again.

Playin' In The Band
May 26, 1973
Kezar Stadium

There isn't an enormous amount of difference between the Strat and Wolf MK1, which had Strat guts. Wolf was likely a lot heavier and it had a rosewood or ebony fretboard instead of maple. It's pretty damn Stratty, but if'n I had to vote, the Strat's the one for me. Either way, this is a great version.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
Sept. 17, 1972
Baltimore Civic Center

Definitely a Delmarva special. One of my favorites.
Tennessee Jed
May 21, 1977
Lakeland Civic Center

A floating, smooth Jed - as one might reasonably expect from such a beautiful show. And, as many have said, the envelope filter is a fabulous treat. It never sounded better than during the first half of 1977, so a surprise application is very generous and certainly appreciated. I dig it here and also glad Garcia didn't make this part of the routine.
Comes A Time
Oct. 3, 1976
Cobo Arena

I like the little flurry of an outro jam, especially Garcia & Godchaux > Dancin’. Quite nice.
Eyes Of The World
Dec. 4, 1973
Cincinnati Gardens

Searing from the git. Who isn't in peak form here? I'm scanning the classroom. J-Louise - precise & loose. Expertise.
