Relaxed and joyous space-age electric guitar semi-ballad.

Bertha
Feb. 21, 1971
Capitol Theater

Warp speed, precise, slightly unhinged, and driving into the greenish-blue evening.

Taft Auditorium

Godchaux leads a version that seethes with the excitement of a new song.

Brown Eyed Women

A giggly, slangy Garcia masterpiece (in sweet show sauce). Goes down EZ.

So good you can practically see the border town.

China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
Feb. 23, 1971
Capitol Theater

Charlie Miller version of this effortless masterpiece of dynamism. https://archive.org/details/gd1971-02-23.sbd.miller.110353.flac16/gd71-02-23d1t06.flac
Eyes Of The World
Feb. 26, 1977
Swing Auditorium

Yes, this might be a Top 5 Eyes for me. Just high level imagination & execution.
Playin' In The Band
Oct. 2, 1977
Paramount Theatre

1977 Playin's have their own ambience. Because the group is pretty close to tip/top, that's a lush, powerful ambience. A musk. Almost. Thank goodness just short of that. Godchaux fucking with the synth works nicely. Very nicely.
Mississippi Halfstep Uptown Toodeloo
May 17, 1977
Memorial Coliseum

"Delicious" says my wife. Garcia sounds great both vocally & guitarally. A Half-Step right in the teeth of its best versions. Chef's kiss.
The Eleven
Oct. 20, 1968
Greek Theatre - University of California

Kind of takes your breath away. Fall '68 Elevens are their own sovereign with their own microclimates. Garcia uses his LP as an earth mover. And the drummers are so in sync - it sounds like nothing else.
