This one is the sound of a band that knows it can do pretty much anything. Smooth and fiery.

A superb show - Garcia using the old T-Beaner and sounding all loopy and bubbly. Hence, the "[e]xtra twang." Garcia's spoken-work guitar is so deft, I can even handle Weir's odd slide work. Take that slide out, and there's a definite 1976 feel to this one. And 1976 Jeds . . . smoooch. To this point, this is my 2nd favorite TJ from 1978 - first being 1/22. High on the zest-O-meter.

Although there's a nice matrix available, I think I go with this board: https://archive.org/details/gd78-10-18.sbd.shakedown.298.sbeok.shnf/gd78-10-18d2t04.shn

Top gun Sunshine! Like all great versions, the interplay between the guitars and bass pushes the pace, sets the background, some of the foreground. Garcia pushes it hard as he can - as he seemed to do every night @ around this time. Just brings the fucking cream cheese to the shiva. Really: everyone brings the noise. Top kwality, tight as a drum real-time shit.
