Lately I think of Port Chester. Fab 4 Alignment. Limber. Ambidextrous.

Scarlet Begonias
June 28, 1976
Auditorium Theatre

Nice, lengthy intro - and then, as Carrion says, fun! Points to Hart for the ride bell hits in the verses. Full of '76 goodness. Great matrices out there of this superb show.
They Love Each Other
Nov. 20, 1973
Denver Coliseum

Extended twangy/tangy intro. Very easy groove maintenance.
The Other One
Feb. 27, 1969
Fillmore West

Crazy high intensity, but they easily throttle down when they hit level ground. But not for long. This is the Innovative Drum Duo. ||| Garcia just cranks and rips into the song with a gusto. Vocals on the chorus sound like a gang of rowdies. Or the chorus line of West Side Story. Totally works! Other One as theater. ||| Then - basically Lesh & Garcia. Wow.
Playin' In The Band
Aug. 21, 1972
Berkeley Community Theater

Wheelhouse Playin'. Up there with the very finest.
Eyes Of The World
July 17, 1976
Orpheum Theatre

From the outset, the electric piano, and Garcia step up and take the wheel. Some Eyes of this period are too fast; this one feels just about right (on the speedy side of things). |||||||| OH YEAH - and Garcia just lights it up. Sorry - as you were.
