Ho-Hum: Another outstanding 1972 TJ. This gem from the sorta overlooked summer tour. Garcia aces the break, natch. Band - unconscious. Whew! at end.

From Garcia's cheeky intro on, this graceful cabochon throws a faint, warm light. 1976 elegance w/a sick, raw spider web guitar break.

First show - I didn't know this gem very well & after this criss-crossy version, I was hooked. Dark & murky.

Download Series - An intimate, casual living room Loser. Garcia coming out of the guitar break is divine. Not the actor.

An especially sharp and spirited specimen - expressive vocals, the rhythm section is precise, and Garcia's guitar break is masterful. A still life.

re-visit just singed my eyebrows. Colossal interplay. Kick is high in the mix and proves that Hart's not necessarily a drummer, but it's a great sound.

Just how good the group was at the time - the beginning sounds like it's going to be a royal clusterfuck, but they yield to Garcia who leads them seamlessly into bliss. This version has pockets galore.

This one is Garcia's from the start - and his brief visit to Wahland early on is a real head-turner. The drums support Garcia's extended speech to the troops. A favorite.

With joeshafer - sometimes the '77 ones are almost too much. '76 Sugarees are right in the sweet spot. May '76 is the peak for me, but this is such a great great show.

Smooth as glass - even when Weir fucks everyone up in the 2nd verse. They just drive on. Pros.
