The Other One
Sept. 15, 1972
Boston Music Hall

Weir hits an octave to start (unusual sound coming from him) and its OFF! Too bad we don't have italics here. That's how OFF! should read. A BLAZER! (bold, italics). Garcia pushes it way out there - into some avant turf. And agree with Carrion and DS67 - very '73.
Estimated Prophet
May 15, 1977
St. Louis Arena

Right in that perfect May 77 Estimated Zone. I might pick 5/19 over this, but this is a gem-o-la!
Weather Report Suite
May 19, 1974
Portland Memorial Coliseum

Probably my Numero Uno.
The Other One
Nov. 20, 1971
Pauley Pavilion

Do not sleep on this Other One! Godchaux almost immediately brings it to McCoy Tyner Land. This is a lovely Other One that should receive more attention and/or love.
Playin' In The Band
Sept. 26, 1973
War Memorial

Lesh's corduroy-covered bass leads ionto the first revelatory section, then Garcia's skittering puddle-jumping takes over from there. Never loses its warm-blooded orbit.
