Overlooked, patient little gemerald.

This one is the sound of a band that knows it can do pretty much anything. Smooth and fiery.

Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
April 20, 1984
Philadelphia Civic Center

Never been much for '84 [actually prefer '85 by quite a bit, in general], but this S>F has some great jump and Garcia is super plugged in. By this point, Lesh and Weir seem to have stopped worrying about being audible, but Garcia takes up the slack both vocally and on guitar and frequently dazzles. Easy to overlook, but worth your time. Entertaining and ballsy.

Fantastic revisit. Just a complex but smooth S>F. A definite favorite.

What a great re-visit. A classic. Sadly underappreciated. Sadly's probably a little much - let's just say <should have more votes>.
Dancin' in the Streets

Barton Hall - Cornell University

Even with Weir's false start, this is The One. Garcia's push-button sounding guitar is insane.
Playin' In The Band

Rossevelt Stadium

Very underrated Playin' - not its fault it shares the stage with an epic Truckin'.
