Best Acoustic version I've heard from a lesser appreciated show...Jerry's vocals are spot on and very and some very nice soloing. Tops any Warfield

A very consistent version of a song they had a hard time with live. Better than any Warfield version I've heard.

New Speedway Boogie
Jan. 1, 1970
Studio- Wally Heider

Unknown date, released on the "Fallout From the Phil Zone" cd. The performance is on par with any of these, and the sound quality smokes them all.

Touch of Grey

Veterans' Memorial Coliseum

Very nice vocal performance

Morning Dew
Nov. 17, 1973
Pauley Pavilion - University of California

This deserves to be up here because of maybe the best overall song transitions I ever heard the boys do, both into this and back out into UJB. SO smooth. And it's a very nice Dew, but in its own right not better than Winterland or Cornell, IMO.
Morning Dew

Winterland Arena

I think this one would have more votes if it was listenable on the Archive. It's flawless. Absolutely better than Cornell.
Morning Dew

Barton Hall - Cornell University

A Best Ever version, to me, can't have Jerry's flubbed notes here and there. Winterland gets my vote for best overall Dew.
Morning Dew

Kings Beach Bowl

Fast and almost rocking, completely different feel than later Dews. I'm not gonna say better than Barton or Winterland, but cool for a change of pace every once in awhile

This site has clued me in on so many great versions of songs, but this tops them all. I now have possibly my favorite jam, but definitely a top 5 jam, as part of my favorite Dead song. The outro jam is just stunningly beautiful. Thank you my Heady friends and the site creator.
