Like the night before, a great version from a legendary show that I'm surprised wasn't already here...

China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
April 11, 1972
Newcastle City Hall
At one point during the transition, Jerry and Phil lock into this thing that sounds like a swarm of bees attacking you in the Martian desert...fantastic stuff.
Deal
April 2, 1973
Boston Garden
Maybe it's because the first "Deal" I heard was 4/8/72, but I love these early versions just as much as the later ones. Similar to "Sugaree," these concise early arrangements allow you to focus more on Hunter's lyrics...depends what you're in the mood for!
Sugar Magnolia

Academy of Music
Very fiery solo!
Dark Star
March 1, 1969
Fillmore West
This one is *very* close to surpassing 2/27 for me -- much to my surprise! In many ways more akin to a '72 version in terms of the diversity of terrain it traverses, yet still with that primal sound and energy. Fantastic stuff, from perhaps the best show of the run...
