Excellent version highlighted by a very jittery Billy with lots of ghost notes on the snare! Slightly botched ending, but otherwise great...

Billy really steals the show on this one...tosses in a variety of grooves, all to great success.

Great, tight show opener kicking off the '72 run on the new box! Has a bit of that 'Cornell inertia,' as I like to call it...

Great version in the right part of the country for it! Keith teases the "Marines' Hymn" before they start...oorah! Man, I love '72...

One of the best I've heard...near-perfect, I dare say!
Bird Song

This BS has a bit of a sparse, rugged feel to it…like an eagle soaring high above the Rockies on a winter’s day as dusk gives way to the starry night. At one point during the first jam, all five are sort of doing their own thing, yet still so together. During the second jam, Bob and Keith do some pretty far out stuff conceptually in relation to what Jerry is doing. Phil is like the wind on this one...'invisible,' yet carrying the bird along.

Jerry throws himself off with that chugging little rhythm during the agreed upon 14-beat false start, progressively falling out of time with the others, then rolls through the stop at the end of the 14...LOL

Spot on, Carrion...Bobby is awesome on this one!

Tight and punchy opener. I maintain Bertha is their best show-opening song.
