Perhaps not surprisingly, you can really hear the '73 sound starting to emerge here (and elsewhere in the show)...

Good start to a very overlooked show. This was their most common opener in '72, kicking off 32 shows, this being the last of them (opens S2 on NYE).

Perhaps the best version. Great, underrated show despite having been officially released for a few years now...

Maybe the best NFA/GDTR sandwich of the tour...it's up there.

^I'm glad you mentioned 2/13/70, Blue_Roses, as I think this show is one of the few others that has those immaculate vibes, that effortless, music-plays-the-band inertia. Likely no coincidence that like 2/13, they were allegedly tripping a little harder than usual here. There's hardly any banter between songs compared to other shows on this tour, which would usually be a minus for me, but in this case it functions to not "break the fourth wall" — I find this show has a cinematic quality to it. I also think you could argue that it's a bit like a 1970 show played in '72. Apart from PITB, the first set is decidedly not trippy, but rather like an acoustic set played electric almost...
