It Must Have Been The Roses
June 18, 1974
Freedom Hall

In addition to the great playing throughout this first set, you can grin at the several musical references to the Derby that the boys threw in.

Light first half of a titanic encore. The anniversary's coming up, might as well give the show a listen...

Slow but mighty.

I know most folks are indifferent re this song, but this type of mid-tempo bouncing shuffle is one of the things I love most about this band.

Another great version from this fantastic night.

Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
June 19, 1991
Pine Knob

First off, listen to this in context of the whole "Stranger > Space > S > F." Sick jam. I've never really cared about Vince (I'm young), but he's contributing nicely. Nothing compared to Lesh, who seems to have a bone in his teeth, and plays some interesting lines right as the band moves to "Fire."
Victim Or The Crime

Pine Knob

I've never really cared about this song, to be honest, but this helped me get it. And the space is unreal.
Cryptical Envelopment
Feb. 11, 1969
Fillmore East

Is the date right on this? I didn't find anything on the archive...
Truckin'
May 11, 1972
Rotterdam Civic Hall

Absolutely. One of my new favorite shows. Any others you want to pitch? Our tastes align fairly often.
Sugar Magnolia
Feb. 15, 1973
Dane County Coliseum

And listen to Keith bring the heat at the end! I had to double back to check this out again.
