Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
May 10, 1987
Laguna Seca Raceway

Audio problems abound, but I quite fancy Jerry's playing in "Scarlet."

Fast. Tight. Happy. What more could you ask for?

Not Fade Away

Grand Prix Racecourse

Be forewarned- the sound quality on this is absolutely brutal, but it's worth it if you can make it through.

Sitting on Top of the World

Felt Forum - Madison Square Garden

Out of a killer "DS," and a nice reading of a classic blues tune. Dig those changes!

Tight, punchy version.

Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
Dec. 27, 1983
Civic Auditorium

Jerry sounds a bit fatigued, and Brent and Bobby sounded like they carried the first part, till Jerry starts tearing it up some. After a great peak in "Scarlet," there is a nice jam out (with some aggressive playing from Bobby!), and I thought this was going someplace quite different, till Phil reins it in and they slide backwards into "Fire." That begins the oddest "Fire" I've yet heard, and at a glacial tempo.

Haha the first two times I tried, it blew my mind. I was not ready. Took a breather and I'm gonna try it again tonight. Deeply heady stuff.
