The band is tight and Jerry doesn't miss a beat. Seems like he's surfing with his guitar lines.

China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
Dec. 2, 1981
Assembly Hall

I think Jerry's working ideas out in new places in the fretboard during the "China" solo, and Brent is contributing some interesting colors.

Nice slow shuffle, and Jerry's playing is quite melodic. But he brings the heat at the end (with some help from Keith).

Some nice playing from Jerry in the solos and transition.

Nice peppy version to open the show, nice solo, and I loved hearing someone near the taper snort with laughter when Bobby flubs a line.
China Doll

Freedom Hall

I'm a little biased, but I think this Eyes > China Doll is a killer combo. And did they play those extended outros in '74? I've not heard one yet, but I might have missed one...

It's nice to hear them do the "song" part (before solos/explorations) with this much energy. And the rest of the song doesn't disappoint.

I only heard the matrix, but think this is a very nice version!

I think this song hits a strong resurgence in the 90s. This is an excellent specimen if you're hunting around for something outside of the 70s.
