Me and My Uncle

Bobby sings the hell out of this one. I know we've all heard dozens of these, but this one had that little bit extra that throws it over the top.

This song usually doesn't do it for me, but this is quite pretty. The SBD cuts out mid-solo, but it's a minor problem.

Brown Eyed Women

Jerry flubs some lyrics, but I liked the solo. Hints at the promise later to come in this well-known show.

The surviving tape has some issues, but this is a powerful version.

Looks Like Rain
May 4, 1977
The Palladium

This entire show is under listened and under loved. Folks seem to think the "Great May Shows" start the next night, and this sleeper flies under the radar, which is a shame since everything here is a cut above the rest of the Palladium run, is at least the equal many of the other May shows, and is far better than others (I'm looking at you, St. Paul...).

Nice solo. The vamping at the end makes this sound more like a set closer than a mid-set number. Show is assuredly underrated.
Mississippi Halfstep Uptown Toodeloo

superior version. Good peak and whole band just cuts along. Hunter Seamon's matrix is best of both worlds.
Wharf Rat

The Palladium

Very nice version!
Eyes Of The World

First solo too low in register to really punch through on the the AUD (Glassberg's), but then he shifts higher and there is some great interaction with Keith. Second solo begins with punchy, angular riffs until Garcia starts floating around the neck. Also don't miss the stunning Garcia solo transition into "Wharf Rat!"
