Awesome. Very elongated solo and some nice verse flourishes

Not going to dethrone Veneta by any means but still a worthwhile spacey, concise, chilled out rendition. Some nice melodic chord jamming from Garcia.

Jaivo-- I always welcome and encourage dissenting opinions but don't you think its a bit pretentious to dismiss and cast aside the opinions of so many others like that? Kind of arrogant to blanketly attribute people's love for this version to the "good sound quality" and the amount of time that it's been in circulation as if you somehow know the quote unquote "real reason" people like 5/8. This version holds legendary status for a lot more than just "good sound quality." I've heard many S>Fs, and many that people like to champion above 5/8, and I still don't believe it to be overrated. 5/8 isn't my favorite but I would never tell someone whose favorite is 5/8 that they only think so because "it's all they had" or because "the sound quality is good." Music is subjective, it's no secret. This one holds its weight to me and I wasn't even born until several years after JG passed-- you're telling me I only like this version because of nostalgia or the good sound quality? I'd beg to differ. Watch the vid ds67 linked. It's great and hopefully you can reconsider.

Tranquil and beautiful. Dig Phil on this one. Jerry sounds very "free" here; the solos just float and glide through the air. Jerry usually picks very hard on this song, but he seems to be intentionally holding back just a hair and it provides for a very relaxed laid-back vibe. This version makes me feel very free from any kind of consequences.

Wise words. I've never understood how heads could be so negative. Doesn't really align with any of the facets of the GD ideology, but again, as you said, there cannot be light without dark.

^^^Yup, inexcusable is exactly right. Charlie Miller can patch it perfectly and seamlessly just messing around on a desktop at his house but the entire GD payroll can't? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense and I'd love to hear their excuse as to why they couldn't do it
