Eyes Of The World

Dallas County Convention Center Arena

You can tell this was a great rendition but this AUD is just way too muddy. An aggressive EQ might do this one some good

No SBD but this AUD is actually quite fantastic. This is a superb version, totally worth your time

Words to describe this one: gentle, tranquil, just beautiful. Criminally underrated. Talkin 25 to life criminally underrated.

There's some intentional stutters in the solo that the whole band picks up on and its magical. On fire, not sure how this wasn't already here

Me and My Uncle

Uptown Theatre

Very abrupt out of mama tried-- Jerry takes a longer solo and totally kills it. 100% worth a listen

China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
Feb. 24, 1974
Winterland Arena

Billy is just killing it here, it's kind of unbelievable how hard this grooves. Check the new 2021 Miller mix from just a few weeks ago, totally cooks.
Goin' Down The Road Feelin' Bad
April 26, 1972
Jahrhunderthalle

This version is beautiful, just wow. Took a break from my philosophy paper to check this out and I couldn't help but smile at that sunshine and rainbows intro, just unbelievably happy sounding. Goin' down the road feelin good! Another tune that's got the "goin where the water tastes like wine" lyric is goin up the country by canned heat-- I'm sure most of you are familiar but that's a fave of mine and the similarities between these two tunes has always been funny to me
Dark Star

Memorial Coliseum

Beautiful version, great rec bcarter. Very chilled out, gentle, jazzy star here
Eyes Of The World

I'm always on the hunt for sleeper '77/'78 shows-- glad this one was a hit here. Happened upon it by chance last night just browsing the relisten app, but will definitely point toward any new gems I find
Eyes Of The World

Nassau Coliseum

The comments here epitomize how polarizing this version is... personally I fall somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. I think this one is great-- Branford adds a lot and Jerry sounds particularly inspired here when compared to other versions of the era. But #2 and only 17 votes behind #1? Kind of a head scratcher. This one would probably land outside of my top 10. To me this one lacks the authentic raw feel of the faster 70s versions where you can really feel the primal magic emanating through the speakers-- 70s versions give me the chills frequently and I just don't get that here. I've also never loved Brent's keyboard tones (they fit for the era but just not my cup of tea) and it's not any different here; this song was written in the context of the 70s and I feel that it sounds best played with those 70s tones. Just my inconsequential two cents of course, and keep in mind I still think this is a fantastic performance-- especially for 1990
