Eyes Of The World

You can tell this was a great rendition but this AUD is just way too muddy. An aggressive EQ might do this one some good

No SBD but this AUD is actually quite fantastic. This is a superb version, totally worth your time

Words to describe this one: gentle, tranquil, just beautiful. Criminally underrated. Talkin 25 to life criminally underrated.

There's some intentional stutters in the solo that the whole band picks up on and its magical. On fire, not sure how this wasn't already here

Very abrupt out of mama tried-- Jerry takes a longer solo and totally kills it. 100% worth a listen

Estimated Prophet
Feb. 3, 1979
Market Square Arena

That was a great read-- I agree that Estimated is a very special song. From the lyrics to the time signature to the guitar tone it all encapsulates that feeling of madness very perfectly. The constant reprisal of "don't worry about me no" is a great theme on the concept of blind faith, as the narrator has no doubts about his destiny. This song is super unique in that I feel like the instrumental continues the lyrical narrative. When Jerry busts out that first solo its like a continuation of the triumphant, confident delusions through music rather than words, and the more sinister sounding outro solo is the narrator's realization that he was wrong. Just my take :)

I am not-- but will definitely check it out later tonight

I feel like estimated is the most inherently “heady” song in the Dead’s catalog. The outro jam in this one is absolutely wild— eyes comes out of literally nowhere. This AUD rules as well, very warm and crisp. Big rec on this estimated>eyes

Don't know how I'm only just hearing this for the first time, but believe the hype. Transitive diamonds!
Wharf Rat

Cow Palace

It's hard to find a wharf rat that doesn't retain the dreaminess that is intrinsic to this song, but this one sparkles a little extra. That buzzy tone Jerry has going towards the end fits perfectly. Beautiful rendition
