Eyes Of The World

Dallas County Convention Center Arena

You can tell this was a great rendition but this AUD is just way too muddy. An aggressive EQ might do this one some good

No SBD but this AUD is actually quite fantastic. This is a superb version, totally worth your time

Words to describe this one: gentle, tranquil, just beautiful. Criminally underrated. Talkin 25 to life criminally underrated.

There's some intentional stutters in the solo that the whole band picks up on and its magical. On fire, not sure how this wasn't already here

Very abrupt out of mama tried-- Jerry takes a longer solo and totally kills it. 100% worth a listen

Dark Star
Feb. 13, 1970
Fillmore East

There will never be anything like this particular dark star. While many dark stars wander (not at all a bad thing), this one immediately feels like it has a set destination and several stops to make along the way. Once the shakers come in after the intro it immediately feels personal- and personal it is indeed, as evidenced by many of the other comments here.

Grendel, this one took a bit to grow on me, but you are absolutely right about this eyes along with this entire show. There's something about this particular performance that is absolutely unlike any other, especially during the first solo- some serious, serious magic here. The pace may take some getting used to but once it clicks it's unreal.
Eyes Of The World
Sept. 3, 1977
Raceway Park

This is probably the only eyes in the top 3 of this site that makes my personal top 3. Everything about this one is exactly perfect- the melodies are just pouring out and Jerry's phrasing is so, so creative. I also find that this one has the others beat in terms of just flowing as a complete song. Can't decide between this one and 11/30/73 as my all time favorite, but that's besides the point.

Eyes fans- you don't want to miss this one. Unique & elongated intro jam played at a very brisk tempo, really nice mix too. Blows my mind how many times they absolutely nailed this song.

For my money, this is the greatest eyes intro of all time. Jerry is seriously throwing out some one of a kind phrases, phrases that would never have occurred to me in any lifetime. This is a majestic rendition and it's bolstered even further by that incredibly bright and potent tone from Wolf. Easily one of my top 3 Garcia guitar tones
