Ksu85 is right. Englishtown #1 without question but this is #2. Very jazzy/funky. Not as fast as the 77 versions but special.

Listening now. Such a soulful song and show. I usually listen more to the 70s but sometimes I want raw blues. Listening, I don’t understand anyone not liking the Dead. You could dislike a year or even a decade, but they were so diverse in style and unmatched, at their best, in ability.

Thanks darkstar69. I agree. I listened to 9/27/72 today and it is great. I still prefer this one as it has a mellow and spiritual flow to it. Truth be told, there are very few songs that have a single version that is better than the rest. Many songs, I change my mind many times over. Sure, Englishtown was and always will be my favorite NFA but there are other versions that I still want to hear. And if someone tells me there is a better NFA, I will listen. I will disagree but listen.
